Visual Inspection and Lead Dust Samples Taken

Our Inspector will conduct a visual inspection of the property this includes exterior of the building and the exterior of any accessory structures built prior to 1978 that are on the same plat and lot. The inspector will then conduct a visual inspection of the interior, ensuring every painted surface is intact. If the Inspector finds no visual hazards on the property, the inspector will then take lead dust samples inside the unit, any child’s bedroom, and any common area shared. Those samples will go to a lab and can take several business days to get the results. If the results pass, a certificate will be issued and then emailed to the client. The certificate will automatically sync with the public database and Landlord Registry on the Department of Health’s website. If the client has not already registered on the Department of Health’s website, we strongly urge them to do so, as registering the rental property is part of the requirement by the state of Rhode Island.
