Only done if the inspector finds visual hazards

Before any samples are taken, our Inspector will conduct a visual inspection of the property. Hazards include any damaged paint, such as chipping, flaking, scaling, holes, and peeling. The visual inspection will also be conducted on the interior and exterior of the building and the exterior of any accessory structures built prior to 1978 that are on the same plat and lot. Any binding friction/ rubbing surfaces, such as doors that stick, will be considered a hazard unless the door and assembly surfaces are unpainted.  If there are any visual hazards on the property, the client will receive a Field Report noting where the hazards are located and will have 30 days to rectify the hazards and have the inspector come back to complete a new full inspection that includes a new visual inspection to make sure the work was completed and completed correctly, and then lead dust samples will be taken.
